Climate Change in South Pacific

FACILITATOR / EDITOR

This participatory video documents climate change issues and adaptation measures as seen through the eyes of the Samoan People. Over a two week period a group of villagers from all walks of life, from young women to old chiefs, worked together to show and explain the effects of climate change on their rural villages. During this time, they focused on livelihoods, ecosystem resilience, culture, and adaptation responses in the face of climate change.

The project was part of Conversations With the Earth – a multimedia initiative to amplify voices of indigenous communities around the world within the global discourse on climate change – founded in 2009 by Land Is Life, InsightShare and photographer Nicolas Villaume.

Gareth has a wealth of experience and expertise in Participatory Video and participatory communications more broadly, and can bring many skills and competencies to any team or initiative.
